What I’m on right now.

Handing the NAISI technical fellowship over to its next lead. I ran it through the last year; the sensible time to pass it on is before a new cohort starts rather than partway through.

Most of the rest goes to NAISI’s research incubator, which we’re standing up now: a guided route for people who have finished a fellowship, from a research question through to a piece of work they could submit or present.

Also writing up the sycophancy work from ARBOx4.

• Anthropic, “Persona Vectors” (2025). Linear directions in activation space that correspond to persona traits, and how to use them to monitor and steer model character.

This site, sporadically. Otherwise the incubator’s shape: how ideation, grouping, supervision, and writeup fit into a term. And thinking about what else UK universities need for AI safety to take root properly.
